Memories Kristoffer Lawson 19th March 2006 What sorrow is greater than a lost home and land Left with just memories no-one understands I hide them away as gifts never opened For who could remember a boy and his dog Running the fields of Antrim town Football, adventure and dreams of greatness Times long past in a place far away No one could care for a boy and his dog I hear still the music bygone Then I listened on a bare cold stone floor The fire to warm us and a broken TV Nothing of which exists anymore My friends I don't hear of Priests and doctors and God knows what else They live their own lives in their country of birth And who gives a thought for the one who was lost I am with a lady I love more than all A beauty who sees my both smiles and tears I touched her asleep, lying naked beside But how will I tell her of sadness inside? And some day my love will exist no more My memories forgotten like that far-away shore To me it's my everything but to others it's naught For who could remember a boy and his dog
